Some Goings On
How to make a white-trash Halloween craft:
materials:
one white grocery bag (we used a Wal-Mart bag because Albertson's seemed too classy for this particular project)
toilet paper
fishing line
permanent marker
scissors
1. gather up a wad of toilet paper and shove it into the corner of the inside of your grocery sack.
2. tie fishing line around the wad of t.p. on the outside of the sack. You now have separate head and body parts of the ghost
3. draw a ghost face on the head
4. cut the bottom of the ghost to make it look ratty and old, and more trashy, also.
5. tie more fishing line around the neck of the ghost, leaving a long piece so that you can make the ghost fly behind you while you are outside and all the neighbors can then wonder what the heck you are doing.
6. spend the next month of your life keeping the plastic grocery sack away from the babies.
Um, I let the boys do this, but I never imagined that I would be so embarrassed to have them actually use the ghosts as toys outside.
Imagine Ethan's horror when he showed me this self portrait he made at school and I asked him why he didn't draw clothes on himself. He was very upset that he had been hanging naked in his classroom for a month. Another life lesson - always draw clothes on yourself.
Left Trent alone for 2 minutes and he somehow found a bag of chips. He must have a super power nose.
Drew has changed his mind and decided that he loves PB&J.
One day I couldn't find Drew. Looked everywhere, called his name...eventually found him camouflaged in the laundry pile that needed to be folded. Glued to his episode of Backyardigans.
Kids are such fun!

BTW, I love your family picture at the beach, not only because you guys are so cute, but also because Kamaki looks like a scary drill sargeant in the background! ;)
Heehee! I love all these random thoughts! And don't be embarassed about the ghosts - if it keeps the kids occupied, it's a priceless object. :)
Oh Erin - I just saw their family photo at the bottom. I think it's a great shot! Maybe they can photo shop my crazy husband out of it. What the heck is that about? I guess it will come in handy later when I need the kids to fall in line! ;)
