A little help...

I need to know how to ship smoked salmon. It will be vacuum packed, but beyond that, I don't know the requirements. Does it need to ship with an ice pack? Overnight? Andrew says that since it's smoked and sealed it doesn't need to be refrigerated, but I'm not sure I believe him. Help?

I don't know from personal experience, but I think Andrew is probably right on this one. Think about all the packages of smoked salmon you see sitting around on shelves in stores (or Hickory Farms in the mall). None of those are refrigerated.

Depends on where you are shipping it. Let's start with CONUS or OCONUS?

I'm going to go ahead and pretend I know what the hell those acronyms mean and say CONUS. (If, you do, in fact, mean continental U.S.)

There you have it, everyone, I am a huge idiot and I can't hide it anymore. Thanks a lot, Maureen!

Ding ding ding! Inside the US or outside the US. :) Sorry...too many years married to the military!

The USPS website has regs on mailing food items. I'm sure vacuum sealed stuff is fine, but you can look it up if you want.

vaccumed packed salmon to Conover Drive in Silver Spring MD can arrive how ever you want to ship it, cause it is safe and sound in it's vaccume pack!
We will be having Christmas eve dinner at Grandma's and I MIGHT share with her!

It is fine to mail.....I am MS. POSTOFFICE!
