Any takers?

I am toying with the idea of hosting a simple kid's book club on my blog. My thought would be to have kids age 4-10 in the club, (that could be tweaked in either direction), and have each child take a turn choosing a book for the rest of the kids to read either alone or with their parents. It could be one of their favorites, or a book that they would like to give a try. Possibly allow two weeks for a picture book to be read, 4 weeks for a chapter book. That time frame would allow kids to find the book at the library if needed, check for it at school, whatever. Once everyone has read the book, the parents could send in comments on what the kids thought about the book to my blog here, and then we would move on to the next child and read their choice.

Also, I thought it might be good to do a really quick, easy spotlight on the child who's turn it is to choose the book, letting everyone know their age, their interests, hobbies, etc. It could possibly expand our libraries and introduce us to new kinds of stories and authors. I'm also hoping it would make reading a little more exciting for my kiddos.

I'm not sure if the blog is the greatest place to do this kind of thing, seeing as they are young and might not grasp the concept of other kids who are potentially very far away reading the same book, but I'm not sure how else to go about doing it. I also haven't thought any further into it, so there could be issues that my very tired brain hasn't thought of yet.
