Another Life Lesson

My boys are not hard workers. They complain and whine and act as though whatever task I have given them is going to cause massive bodily harm or depression and ruin their lives. I am going to remedy this. This summer I plan to host an a.m. work camp every day. We will wake up and make our beds, brush our teeth and get dressed before we are allowed to have breakfast. We will then spend time reading and practicing math and writing skills. Then, ooohhhh, then, we will have death chores. Weeding for hours, scrubbing toilets, doing our own laundry, raking the grass, washing windows...whatever I can come up with that will make them thoroughly miserable until they get an idea of how easy they really have it and learn not to fall apart when I ask them to take out the garbage or pick up their toys outside. And all of this will take place before lunch. Every stinking day. I can hardly wait to see their first blisters... I will, of course, give them the afternoon to recover so they are all set for the next day's slave labor. Aren't I a nice Mom?

Wow... something vaguely familiar about all this.... :) Good luck with your work crew - maybe you could find some orange jumpsuits somewhere. :)
